Pyridaben 哒螨灵
Introduction: Pyridaben is a selective contact Insecticide and miticide, also effective against thrips, aphids, whiteflies and leafhopprs. Registrations are for pome fruits, almonds, citrus, ornamentals and greenhouse ornamentals. Pyridaben provides exceptionally long residual control, and rapid knockdown at a broad range of temperatures. Pyridaben is one of four important synthetic heterocyclic Insecticides and miticides with NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase as the target. Pyridaben is registered under the Pest Control Products Act as a miticide/Insecticide for the control of mites on apples, cucumbers, grapes, peaches/nectarines, pears, peppers, raspberries and strawberries. The use of Pyridaben on tomatoes will provide joint benefits to consumers and the agricultural industry as a result of improved management of pests. In addition, this use will contribute to a safe, abundant and affordable food supply by allowing the importation and sale of food commodities containing acceptable levels of pesticide residues.

Effect on birds: Acute oral LD50 for Bobwhite quail is >2250 mg/kg. Effect on fish: Acute LC50 (96 h) for Rainbow trout is 0.0007 mg/l. Effects on aquatic invertebrates: Acute EC50 (48 h) for Daphnia magna is 0.001 mg/l. Effects on algae: Acute 72 hour EC50 for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata is 0.017 mg/l. ENVIRONMENTAL FATE
Animals In the rat, goat and hen, an orally administered dose is excreted mainly in the faeces. Metabolism is complex, with at least 30 degradates. Plants After application to citrus and apple, pyridaben degrades gradually photochemically and is not translocated into the pulp. Soil/Environment Readily degrades microbiologically in aerobic soils, DT50 <21 d; further degrades to polar products (including soil-bound residues) and CO2. In natural water, DT50 10 d (25℃, in dark). DT50 for aqueous photolysis c. 30 min (pH 7). See also Stability.
Usage: Pyridaben was discovered and introduced by Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd. It is used to prevent and curative control of Sclerotinia, Botrytis, Monilia and Helminthosporium spp. on fruits(top fruits, strawberries and raspberries), vegetables(tomatoes, peas and beans), ornamentals, vines, cereals, sunflowers, oilseed rape, soyabeans, groundnuts, tobacco, etc.
Application: Biochemistry Inhibitor of mitochondrial electron transport at complex I Mode of action Non-systemic insecticide and acaricide. Rapid knockdown and long residual activity. Active against all developing stages, especially against the larval and nymph stages. Uses Control of Acari, Aleyrodidae, Aphididae, Cicadellidae and Thysanoptera on field crops, fruit trees, ornamentals and vegetables, at 5-20 g/hl or 100-300 kg/ha.
