Introduction: Fluazuron can be used as antiparasite, tick development inhibitor, insecticide, insect and acarine development inhibitor.Also can be used in cattle for controling of Boophilus microplus. The principle mode of action of fluazuron on the cattle-tick is by inhibition of chitin incorporation into tick cuticle. It is dangerous for the environment.

Animals: Virtually no metabolism. Soil: Not investigated, environmental contamination is unlikely because of pour-on application. Plant: Not relevant.
Usage: Fluazuron was discovered by Ciba-Geigy. It is a insect growth regulator and broad spectrum antiparasitic substance used to control ticks in livestock, especially cattle.
