MAMMALIAN TOXICOLOGY
Acute toxicity:
1) Acute oral LD50 for rat: >386 a.i.mg/kg; 2) Acute dermal LD50 for Rabbit : 2000 a.i.mg/kg; 3) Inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rat: >2.21 a.i. mg/L; 4) Non-irritating to skin (rabbits); 5) slightly-irritating to eye (rabbits); 6) Not a skin sensitiser (guinea pigs). Tolfenpyrad was not carcinogenic and unlikely to be genotoxic or mutagenic, and tolfenpyrad is not teratogenic and neurotoxicity. No information on adverse health effects or poisoning in manufacturing plant personnel or in operators and workers exposed to tolfenpyrad was available.

ENVIRONMENTAL FATE
Tolfenpyrad moderately degrades under aerobic conditions (half-lives of 14-15 days in aerobic soil and aerobic aquatic water-sediment systems). Notably, Tolfenpyrad is known to degrade to several degradates which may be of toxicological concern. If these are of toxicological concern, then the persistence of Tolfenpyrad and its residues of concern would be considerably longer than that for the parent chemical alone. The bioaccumulation of Tolfenpyrad, a log Kow for Tolfenpyrad of 4.3 (MRID 47447701 in above cited document) in addition to the log Kow of 5.61 (MRID 48747601). Tolfenpyrad is recognized as not being Persistent in the atmosphere (the air photolysis half-life is 0.2 days). Long Range Transport was also investigated using the OECD Screening Pov (Overall Persistence) and LRTP (Long Range Transport Potential) Screening Tool for quantifying long range atmospheric transport potential of Tolfenpyrad. The OECD tool indicates a CTD (Characteristic Travel Distance) value of 59 km and Pov (Overall Persistence) of 34 days. Characteristic travel distance is defined as the distance to which 38 percent of the chemical has degraded in the system.
Usage: Tolfenpyrad is developed in 1988 by Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings. Tolfenpyrad is a high-effective and wide spectrum insecticide. Control object to effectively combat Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera pests and so on, It is mainly used for vegetables, fruit trees, flowers and tea leafs.
Application: Broad-spectrum insecticidal for Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Beetles, Hymenoptera, Diptera pests and Mites. 1. Broad-spectrum insecticidal. Have good effect on egg, larva, and imago. 2. Quick acting. Pests will die immediately once processed. 3. Effect lasting longer with about 10days. 4. No interactive resistance. 5. Resistance to rain. Almost not affected by the rainfall. 6. Safe and environmental friendly.
